How many lessons will we need?
Each couple will have a unique vision and so each couple will need a different number of lessons. Generally, for a First Dance, Father-Daughter, Mother-Son, or Parents Dance we would suggest four lessons if you are short on time, eight if you want a polished and beautiful dance, and twelve if you are looking to “Wow!”. For Wedding Party Dances, it is best to get eight lessons for a fun and simple routine or twelve for an advanced routine. We don’t have any dance experience. Can we still work with you?
The vast majority of our clients have no dance experience whatsoever. We specialize in creating a warm and safe environment to learn in. If you’re nervous, please let us know. It would be our privilege to assist you.
I’m nervous in front of crowds. What do you suggest?
Many people get “stage fright” or are nervous to dance in front of others. We suggest two things: (1) remember that everyone who is present on your wedding day is a friend or loved one. They are there because they support you and they will be wowed by whatever you do out there on the dance floor. (2) Let us know and we can help you practice, working your way up to the big day. We will ensure that you are feeling comfortable and confident by the time your wedding day arrives.
How long before the wedding should we start?
We suggest starting roughly six months ahead of your wedding. Of course, depending on your vision, you may need more or less time. Please reach out to us for your complimentary consultation for a personalized estimate.
Our wedding is in one week. Is there still time?
Yes! Please get in contact with us as soon as you can so we can get you everything that you need to have a beautiful wedding dance.
We don’t have a song picked out. Can we still take lessons?
Absolutely! This will give you the opportunity to try out a number of different dances to help you decide on what you would like. We are also happy to provide assistance in finding the perfect song to dance to for those interested.
My partner or I have a mobility condition. Can we do a wedding dance?
Certainly! We would be delighted to work with you and your fiancé(e) or parent to create the perfect dance suited to your vision and circumstances.
What if we don’t want anything too choreographed or fancy?
Not at problem! We would be happy to work with you to learn a natural sequence of figures that you can confidently dance as you would like. Reach out to us for your free consultation for more information about how to have a free-form wedding dance.
What should we wear to our dance lessons?
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please no “street shoes” or non-dance heels (stiletto, metal spike heels, etc.). Please ensure that the shoes are free from all dirt and debris and can comfortably slide across the floor. (No rubber soles, please.)
After your first couple lessons, it would be best to dress in similar clothing to what you plan to wear the day of your wedding, and either bring the shoes or similar shoes to what you’ll dance in.
If you are interested in purchasing dance shoes, please let us know and we can direct you to reputable shoe sellers.
How do we get started?
Please give us a call or send us a message on our contact page. We look forward to speaking with you!
